Welcome to the only personal weather station in Greenside suburb situated just to the north of Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province of South Africa where the time now is 14:53:00 and it currently is 21.1 °C outside and the temperature is Rising. This time yesterday it was 19.6 °C outside. But, because of the relative humidity being 3% and a current windspeed of 5.4 km/h (Light air), gutsing at 10.8 km/h from the E it now feels like 16.4 °C outside. We experienced a low of 1.6 °C and a high of 21.3 °C so far for today compared to 6.6 °C and 19.9 °C measured for yesterday. The lowest and higest temperatures recorded for this year by this station was 1.6 °C on 02 June and 36.0 °C on 11 May respectively. The weather station in use is the Oregon Scientific WMR100, and these pages are updated every 1 minute. The meteorological day used at this station ends at midnight. The temperature and humidity sensor is housed in a radiation shield to avoid temperature errors as a result of direct sunlight and the rain gauge is modified so that rainfall can be measured to an accuracy of 0.1mm. Wind chill Temperature is only defined for temperatures at or below 10 °C and wind speeds above 4.8 kilometres per hour. The weather station is managed by Dr Herman van Niekerk (PhD Geology).
